The purpose of Seeds of Africa Foundation is to financially support intellectually brilliant Zimbabwean students get an education.
Our mission
The mainstay of our foundation’s goals is promoting education among the underprivileged members of society. We subscribe to the philosophy of “development through education” - the philosophy that education is the most powerful and effective way to bring change, independence, innovation and prosperity. We believe in the power of education to end poverty, bring enlightenment and transform lives.
Seeds of Africa Foundation is a publicly supported, non-profit organization that empowers intelligent but economically disadvantaged primary and secondary school students in Africa to achieve their academic dreams. We are dedicated to gathering the resources and funds needed to achieve this goal. We believe that money should not be a hindrance to someone who is eager to get an education. We are dedicated to making sure that any student in Zimbabwe who deserves to go to school will get an opportunity to do so. Seeds of Africa Foundation does not just seek to help students afford school, but also to help them succeed. In addition to financial support, we also provide students with the guidance and mentorship they need to succeed.
As of 2005, only 41% of students continued their education after primary school in Zimbabwe. Seeds of Africa Foundation is dedicated to seeing more students continue with their education.
At the heart of Seeds of Africa Foundation are volunteers who are passionate about providing education to those who can’t afford it. We have a team in Zimbabwe that identifies talented students and teams in the United States and Australia that evaluate the needs and work hard to meet them. Our board comprises of different leaders from around the world who are passionate about education. The board shapes the direction of Seeds of Africa Foundation and provides big picture guidance for organization.
